Idaho and Oregon offer some spectacular Blue Grouse hunting in September between elevations of 5 to 6 thousand feet. The birds can be found in the early mornings on open grassy ridglines feeding on grasshoppers that are too cold from the cooler frosty nights to fly yet. Pictured is Cedarwoods Neon Playgirl (Tatr) on the breaks of the Salmon River with the Seven Devils Mountains in the background.
